Logo & Brand Design - Roast + Roll

Project Overview

Roast + Roll’s brand identity blends two passions - coffee and skateboarding - into a bold, characterful visual identity. We created a bespoke logo suite and supporting brand assets designed to reflect the brand’s relaxed, community-driven atmosphere.

At the centre of the identity is a badge-style logo featuring a skateboard wheel and coffee bean, paired with a hand-drawn typeface to capture the organic, slightly imperfect feel of the brand.

Brand Elements

The colour palette combines warm, welcoming hues inspired by the coffee world, with a warm rustic red used for calls to action and key highlights. This balance helps the brand feel friendly and approachable while still standing out in both retail and café settings.

Design Approach

To give Roast + Roll a cohesive and adaptable brand identity, we designed a series of hand-drawn illustrations and supporting assets with a relaxed, sketch-style finish. These elements were created to work across multiple touchpoints, from packaging and signage to marketing materials.

The overall approach was focused on creating a brand that feels authentic, informal, and full of personality, reflecting the laid-back culture of both skate and coffee communities.

Merchandise Designs

The brand was extended through a range of packaging and merchandise designs, including coffee cups, apparel, and promotional items. Each piece features the badge logo and custom artwork, helping to build a recognisable and consistent brand presence beyond the café itself.

The result is a distinctive brand identity that brings together skate culture and coffee, creating a relaxed, welcoming space with plenty of character.
